Movie Story: A family from the oppressed class is on the run after the teenaged child murders a rich man from the upper caste. Can the conservative dad be spare his hot-blooded child?
Movie Review: Asuran opens with the shot of an impression of the moon on still water. In any case, the tranquility of the visual is lost when a foot steps into the water. This single shot is evocative of the film's center plot - the peace of a family destroyed by a reckless demonstration act.
The family is that of Sivasamy (Dhanush), a little rancher from the lower standing. With Narasimhan (Aadukalam Naren), a rich proprietor from the upper position, plotting to get his three-section of land, to fabricate a concrete production line, the pressures are running intense between the two families. Things raise when Sivasamy's hot-headed senior child, Murugan (TeeJay Arunasalam) embarrasses Narasimhan, and the last fight back by having him severely slaughtered. Sivasamy still attempts to secure his family by adopting a conservative strategy, his furious teenaged child Chidambaram (Ken) unfit to see his mom Pachaiyamma (Manju Warrier) enduring, murders Narasimhan. With the proprietor's relatives baying for the adolescent's blood, can the patriarch spare his family and put an end to the enmity?
With Asuran, an adjustment of Poomani's acclaimed novel, Vekkai, Vetri Maaran conveys one more strong activity show that keeps us charmed from beginning to end. He regards the main half as an endurance dramatization, with the dad and child attempting to avoid Narasimhan's men who are on their track. Furthermore, he scatters these minutes with scenes that have lead to this decisive circumstance. It is this methodology that makes Asuran unmistakable. It indicates how standing partition has metamorphosised into a class isolate, even as the members continue as before. Truth be told, rank isn't referenced expressly until the last bits. The film stays a rich versus poor fight superficially even as Vetri Maaran drops enough position markers to cause us to understand the issues keep running far more profound.
The guaranteed storytelling (there is certainly not a single wasted moment), combined with the strong filmmaking (Velraj's cinematography, specifically, is a feature) and the fine exhibitions, regularly have us on the edge of our seats. Furthermore, the chief gets another vital exhibition from Dhanush, who is radiant here. Playing a character who is more established than his genuine age, the entertainer convincingly depicts the physicality of a 40 or more man. His appendages hang free, his walk is somewhat more slow paced and flimsy, and his discourse has the tremors that age adds to our vocal harmonies. This should rank among his best performances.
